What comes to your mind when you hear the word Junkitarian’s babies? For me, at first, I don’t have Idea on this. But when my searching goes on I discovered something new. For me, babies are not literally born addicted though they are given junk food as a way to pacify them when they complain instead of trying to find healthy alternatives; the mother will give them junk food because they know that the kid will eat and starts to only like that kind of food.
I found an article by the Federation of American entitled, “Eating junk food while pregnant may make your child a junk food addict” from the site sciencedaily.com. This article talks about junkitarian babies who need to eat higher amounts of fat and sugar in order to feel
satisfied that they have enough. They say that what your mother’s eat is what
you are. Eating junk food while pregnant changes the development of the
brain. This
change results in a higher tolerance for food that is loaded with sugar and
fat. According to Gerald Weissmann, "This study shows that addiction to junk food is true addiction."

I found another article entitled "7 Highly Disturbing Trends in Junk Food Advertising to children", by Laura Gottesdiener, from the site alternet.org. The article talks about the ads that influenced the child mostly, these are Bombarded, The ads, not the TV, are what's making kids fat, Ten extra pounds a year, Children clueless while industry cashes in, A fourth meal,Holding schools hostage and Industry's idea of self regulation: happy meals with apple slice. It was stated their that the children watch more nearly 5,000 TV every year. They used different tricks like cartoon characters, burgers and so morefor them to believed the child. If a mother eats non nutritious food, it has highly side effects to babies, just like junkitarian babies. According to Institute of Medicine government report stated, “It can be concluded that television advertising influences children to prefer and request high-calorie and low-nutrient foods and beverages.”
Nowadays, advertising seems too attractive to the child's eyes, for them to convinced the consumer . But otherwise it's not good for a child's health. The percentage of children between 6 and 11 increases. I found out that in order to have effective advertising, it should have 3 appeal innate emotions: Love, fear and rage.
